When the farmer needs help, we go far to find good solutions. We arrange a farm relief worker and take care of all the administration. When farmers use the service in everyday life, they also help build the emergency preparedness that will be there when something urgent happens. Together we pull the load – on ordinary days and when it really matters.

The Farmer's Network – we are the first line

Are you worried about yourself or a farmer you know? Get in touch – you don't need to know what's wrong. VLT is the first line in the Farmer's Network in these municipalities:

  • Øystre Slidre
  • Vestre Slidre

More than animal care

On a farm there is always something that needs to be done, and sometimes it's good to get an extra hand. Valdres Landbrukstjenester offers more than animal care. We know the farming community in Valdres and have skilled people who are happy to help, whether the need is small or large, short-term or ongoing.

We can help with, among other things:

  • clipping of cattle
  • washing of barns and farm buildings
  • soil work
  • firewood work
  • fencing work
  • other practical tasks on the farm

We also work with experienced professionals in hoof trimming, sheep shearing and seasonal farm work. If you need one of these services, we help you find the right person for the job.

We help farmers find dairymaids for the mountain pasture season. The work starts already in March. Then we map the needs at the mountain pastures and begin finding people with the right experience and skills. Farmers who need a dairymaid should therefore get in touch as early as possible.

These are just a few examples of what we can help with. Every farm and every situation is unique, and we take the time to listen to what you specifically need. Even if the task isn't on the list, we do our best to find a good, practical solution together with you. For us, it's about being close, available and reliable. We want to make everyday life a little easier for the farmer and be a safe partner when the need for qualified help arises.

You are always welcome to get in touch for a no-obligation chat. Tell us what you need help with, and we'll look together at how we can best assist you.

We are continually developing our services based on the needs of farming. We are now working on getting an approved certifier in place who can inspect and certify silo hoists. From 2027 we also plan a practical course for dairymaids and dairymen, focusing on challenges that can arise when the herd is moved to the mountain pasture. When the offers are ready, we will publish more information about each of them as separate news items on the website.
